Design made to last

A Lunor frame does not begin with the question of what will make the loudest impression. It begins with proportion, function and character. A good frame should sit naturally within a face and allow the wearer’s personality to remain visible.

Timeless design does not mean that every pair of spectacles looks the same, or as neutral as possible. Round classics, geometric metal shapes and expressive acetate frames can be very different. What connects them is a clear design idea. No detail should exist merely to attract attention. Lunor finds inspiration in the history of eyewear, as well as in architecture, art, materials and the present day. Historic shapes are not simply repeated. They are examined, refined and translated into proportions for today.

Craftsmanship takes time

A drawing only becomes a pair of spectacles through many individual steps. Tools are developed, components are shaped, joined and finished. Surfaces are refined, transitions checked and frames inspected. Many of these stages are carried out by hand. Modern technology is used where it improves precision. But the decisive judgement remains human: Does the surface feel right? Is the joint clean? Does the frame sit exactly as it should? Lunor produces all acetate frames at several locations in Germany. Its stainless steel frames are made exclusively in its own manufactory. For materials requiring particular regional expertise, Lunor also works with selected manufactories in Japan and Switzerland.

The people behind every detail

A pair of spectacles is not created at a single desk. Design, product development, purchasing, production, quality control, logistics and collaboration with opticians all work together. Behind every step are people who contribute their knowledge: designers refining a line; eyewear makers adjusting tools to hundredths of a millimetre; opticians in quality control; colleagues who ensure that a frame reaches the specialist retailer complete, carefully checked and exactly as it should.

Longevity over short-lived appeal

Eyewear conserves resources above all when it is worn for a long time. That requires durable materials, precise workmanship and a design that does not feel outdated after a short while. Just as important is the ability to preserve a frame. As a rule, Lunor continues to provide spare parts even for models that have been worn for many years, and in some cases for decades. An optician can clean a pair of spectacles, readjust it and coordinate any necessary repairs. Longevity is therefore not an abstract promise. It is evident in the construction, in the service and in the willingness not to replace a good product too soon.

Why Lunor works with specialist opticians

A pair of spectacles is more than a frame. It has to suit the wearer’s prescription, face and everyday life. That cannot be decided from a product image alone.
